Description
The leadership and management skills and capabilities in the Cancer Care Continuum are becoming more and more important for medical and clinical staff, also to be ready to face challenges, dynamics and complexity of the modern healthcare environment, as fast-paced technological advancements, increasing patient needs and scarce resources, especially in the field of oncology.
For this reason, SPCC is willing to launch a basic skills in "Strategic Leading and Management in the Cancer Care Continuum", an educational course designed to increase participants’ understanding of management skills and to develop capabilities to be effective leaders.
Learning objectives
• To increase awareness and knowledge about leadership and management in the Cancer Care Continuum
• To learn the fundamentals of leadership (e.g. communication, strategic thinking, team building, and leading)
• To understand the importance of strategic planning, performance measurement, and management and how to implement them
• To provide foundation for self-developing
• To improve knowledge about dynamics, needs, and complexity of the whole Cancer Care ecosystem (e.g., digitalisation, affordability, assessment & equity of access of innovative technologies, measurement of health outcomes).
Outcomes
• To equip healthcare professionals (HCPs), researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders with the tools and strategies necessary to anticipate future trends and challenges in cancer care
• To effectively lead their organisations towards achieving long-term objectives in improving patient outcomes and experiences
The course is held entirely in English and fluency in English is necessary for admission.

Ideal candidate profile:
• Is aged up to 50 years
• Is aged up to 50 years
• Has a leadership and/or management role in the cancer care continuum
• Is preparing to take on initiatives, leadership responsibilities, and managerial roles
• Is fluent in English
The course is addressed to the following categories:

• Mid-career health care professionals with managerial roles
• Mid-high-level representatives of patient or advocate organisations

Practicalities
Course venue: Campus Bocconi, Via Roberto Sarfatti, 10, 20136 Milan, Italy.
Selected participants will benefit from access to the course and its educational materials, as well as meals according to the programme.
It will start on Friday 07 March 2025 at 10:00 CET and end on Saturday 08 March at 18:00 CET. Arriving late for the start or leaving early at the end are not acceptable.
Travel expenses and hotel booking should be organised and paid by the participant.
Accreditation
Participants will be issued a certificate of attendance at the end of the event by completing the evaluation questionnaire (minimum attendance 100% of in-person event).
Application for CME recognition will be submitted to the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
EACCME credits are recognised by the American Medical Association towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA).
