DEFINITIVE Task Force “Optimising precision oncology in HER2-positive breast cancer: from biomarkers to value and patient-centred care”

Precision oncology is transforming breast cancer care through advances in biomarker development, molecular profiling, and targeted therapies. Translating these innovations into clinical practice remains challenging, requiring better integration of biomarkers, real-world evidence, patient-centred outcomes, and value-based approaches.

Oncology Nutrition Integration – Educational project 2026

This educational project is developed in collaboration with Fresenius Kabi.
Malnutrition remains insufficiently integrated into oncology pathways despite its significant impact on treatment outcomes and patient quality of life. A more coordinated, multidisciplinary approach leveraging patient advocacy and digital tools is therefore needed to improve nutritional care across the continuum.

Minimal Residual Disease (MRD)  in multiple myeloma – Educational project 2026

This activity is supported by: an independent grant from Cloud Pathology Group and an unrestricted medical contribution from Sanofi (Phase 1); and by an unrestricted medical contribution from Sanofi, together with independent, unrestricted funding in the form of an educational grant provided by Waters Biosciences, formerly BD Biosciences (Phase 2).

Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) is emerging as a powerful prognostic marker in multiple myeloma. Advancing knowledge of MRD can support personalised treatment, improve patient outcomes, and facilitate the development of more effective therapeutic strategies.

Equality in Cancer Care – Educational project 2025/2026

AstraZeneca and Gilead have provided sponsorship grants towards this independent activity.
The increasing awareness of health disparities has brought to light the urgent need to promote equity in cancer care. Social determinants of health play a critical role in shaping outcomes for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Advancing health equity in oncology requires identifying and addressing these systemic barriers, expanding access to high-quality care, and ensuring that every patient receives the treatment they need and deserve.

Improving quality in prostate cancer care through personalised diagnostic testing – Educational project 2025/2026

Developed in collaboration with Pfizer
Personalised diagnostic tests are essential in tailoring prostate cancer care, leveraging unique molecular features such as gene alterations and protein expression for treatment selection and prognosis. SPCC hosted a closed task force (12 June 2025); the most important outcomes of the task force will be summarised in a manuscript that will be submitted for publication to a peer reviewed journal.
